Senator says the Russian president has earned the designation.
Senators Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut introduced a resolution Tuesday to officially designate Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism.
The resolution calls on Secretary of State Antony Blinken to place the official label on Russia amidst its deadly invasion of Ukraine where thousands of civilians have been reported killed by Vladimir Putin’s Russian forces.
“Putin’s in charge of a state sponsor of terrorism; that designation needs to be given to Russia,” Senator Graham said. “He earned that designation. We need to pour it on when it comes to helping Ukraine.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For discernment for senators as they evaluate the situation in Eastern Europe.
- For Secretary of State Blinken as the State Department considers the terrorist designation for Russia.
